I thoroughly enjoy working with new or seasoned mothers. Our role as a mother is one of the greatest roles we can play, but it can also be full of stress, anxiety, confusion, guilt, and loneliness. Coaching services can help you navigate these emotions and help you focus on behavior change that support your values as a mother.
I provide a free mental health postpartum assessment after birth. This evaluation will help you decide if counseling or coaching would support your mood and behaviors postpartum. I also work with local perinatal providers, and often make referrals to lactation support, doulas, and body work, (massage, chiropractic, craniosacral). It often takes a team to support a mom who is struggling with physical or mental changes postpartum.
I also spent time assessing your diet/supplement intake. Many postpartum mood issues are a result of nutrient depletion or underlying disturbances in the gut microbiome. It is important to rule this out, before creating a treatment plan. Nutrient deficiencies in postpartum are very common and treatable! Also see the GUT HEALTH tab for more information about how I test for specific pathogens in the digestive track.
I do utilize a somatic-based therapy called Lifespan Integration, which helps the brain rewire new neural networks. It is extremely helpful for trauma experienced in childhood or young adulthood. It helps mothers understand young patterns of behavior and thinking that were created as a result of survival, but no longer serving a purpose in motherhood.
